You wouldn’t believe it looking at rap now unless you’re a eighties baby,but there was a time when rappers used to dance. Not two step, not diddy bop, but full out dance move sets. Some even had background dancers that were apart of the group. All they did was dance for our amusement. It was a glorious time for music videos………..Then it happened(sometime around 1991-1993 if memory serves correct). Dancing rappers all started falling off one by one. The new era rappers weren’t even trying to show you they knew how to cut a rug or lead you to believe they even knew how to. They weren’t trying to have a dance named after them for it first being seen in their video. They didn’t even have background dancers. Directors started shooting rappers from the waist up. You couldn’t even tell if these dudes had legs. They just wanted to rap, nothing wrong with that, I can respect it. We took dancing rappers for granted and now they’re extinct. One hasn’t been seen in about 20 years and I doubt that we ever will see another one again. So take some time out of your day to remember the fabled” dancing rapper”
