You wouldn’t believe it looking at rap now unless you’re a 80’s baby, but there was a time when rappers used to dance. Not two step, not diddy bop,but full out dance move sets. Some even had background dancers that were apart of the group and all they did was dance for our amusement. Then it happened….(If memory serves me right it was sometime around 91-92) Dancing rappers all started falling off. The new era rappers wasn’t trying to show you they knew how to cut a rug or even lead you to believe they knew how to. They wasn’t trying to have a dance named after them because they were the first ones to do it in their video. They just wanted to rap and look tough, nothing wrong with that, I can respect it, but a part of me misses dancing rappers. I’m pretty sure they’re extinct since we haven’t seen one in about 20 years and I doubt we will ever see one again. Good thing we have video records of them existing so future generations can see what they were like. So take some time out of your day to remember the legendary dancing rapper.
